The Path of Least Resistance: A Musical Poem About Laziness
Here’s a musical poem I wrote, narrated, scored, illustrated, and animated about the path of least resistance, and how that can be eerily similar to laziness.
I’ve been wrestling with how to drown out the noise and remain a productive artist (aka one who doesn’t off himself). Yes, the current political environment has tapped me out, and so I’m tapping out. I’ll vote… probably. I may not. I hate everyone. I trust no one. What good humans are going into politics these days? Any days?
Not me. I’m privileged enough to stay above the fray... for now. I’m claiming that privilege, for the sake of my well being. I’ve got no fight left in me. All I can do is observe, keenly, and try my best to illuminate the bright edges peeking out from the brooding clouds. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.
Thus, the wrestling.
I don’t really need people to tell me I’m privileged; I know. I don’t need people to tell me how a little bit of fascism goes a long scary way; I know better than most.
I’m just trying to make art, to express my human condition, about where I’m at. And I’m creating like a mo-fo these days; I got a lot to say about all this whack shat.
And it’s my privilege to say it.
